Wood Frame Homes Designed and Built by Canterbury Design and Construction in Southeast Texas

DSCN0412 - CopyCanterbury Design and Construction, LLC has designed and built many quality wooden homes over the years and we still build them today for those clients that want a wooden home.  Long before steel ties were required by the Texas Windstorm Commission - and long before the "Texas Wind Storm Commission" even existed - we were installing steel ties made by T.E.C.O. (Timber Engineering Company) to the tops and bottoms of all our studs and all our roof rafters to strengthen our homes.  We were the first to build steel frames to go inside of the wood framing to add shear strength to our walls. They are now making this sort of product to sell to the housing industry to strengthen their homes.

If you will, look closely at some of the remodel pictures of homes we built almost  50 years ago you will see these T.E.C.O. ties on all the rafters tying them to the top plates.

We are very proud of the fact that Canterbury Design and Construction, LLC has never lost a home or had a home damaged that we designed and built to any of the many thunder storms and hurricanes that have hit the Texas coast over the last 47 years.
