Award Winning Texas Construction by Canterbury Design and Construction, LLC

Mr. Sam Canterbury was chosen to be on the advisory board of House and Home in 1977 due to all of the quality building Canterbury Construction Company was doing and the work he was doing with the SIPs (structural insulated panels) produced by the Homes division of United States Steel Co.

Canterbury Design and Construction, LLC entered the Metal Homes Digest "Steel Framing Awards" contest in July 2003 with the steel framed home we designed for Maxey and Frances Mayo in 2002.  This home won first place in the 2000 ft2 To 3500 ft2 division. This home is all steel framed construction and has massive arched entry doors that exactly match the arched windows of the home.  The open area courtyard in the front of the home and the screen porch on the back of the home carry the exact same arches as well as the windows in the dining area and the window in the living area. Very careful planning was used to safeguard all the trees around this home and those in the open area court yard during construction. See our section on Saving Trees to learn more about our diligent efforts to build in an ecologically friendly manner. We are very proud of all the trees we have saved, not only during this job, but others as well over the many years we have been in business.
